The latest Henley Passport Index reveals which African passports offer the greatest global mobility in 2026. Seychelles once again leads the continent, giving its citizens access to 154 destinations and ranking 24th globally, despite a slight dip from last year. Mauritius follows closely, offering entry to 147 destinations, while South Africa retains third place in Africa, even as its visa-free reach narrows. Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Morocco, Malawi, and Kenya round out the top 10, with most offering strong regional mobility but limited global access. While African passports still lag behind global leaders like Singapore, the rankings highlight steady diplomatic gains, as well as lingering travel gaps across the continent.
