Cabo Verde has launched TechPark CV, a $50 million project backed by the African Development Bank, to position itself as a rising star in the digital economy. Aiming to create 1,500 high-value jobs across Santiago and São Vicente, the park includes a data center, a startup incubator, and training facilities. Secretary of State Pedro Lopes calls the project the “cornerstone” of the country’s digital future, designed to reduce reliance on tourism and attract global talent. With tax breaks, strong fiber connectivity, and easy immigration policies, Cabo Verde hopes to lure international firms and its diaspora back home. Tech giants like Microsoft and Intel are already showing interest in the venture, lending credence to the island group’s claim that its small size doesn’t preclude success.
