Egypt has sharply escalated its criticism of Israel’s war in Gaza, vowing to block any mass displacement of Palestinians. Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty declared that forcing Palestinians from their homeland would amount to “liquidation” of the Palestinian cause and insisted Egypt would treat it as a red line. His remarks came as thousands of Gaza City residents defied Israeli evacuation orders, despite the devastation and humanitarian crisis. Abdelatty accused Israel of carrying out genocide through civilian killings and “artificial starvation,” echoing charges the Egyptian leadership has repeatedly leveled in recent months. Meanwhile, Israel, which is fighting a genocide case at the International Court of Justice, has repeatedly rejected accusations that its actions amount to genocide, maintaining that its operations are self-defense against Hamas.
