In Cape Town’s Bakoven neighborhood, creative duo Juan Moreno López-Calull and Pieter de Groot transformed a once-cramped 900-square-foot flat into a serene seaside retreat. Determined to maximize the Atlantic view, they reconfigured the layout, adding oversized windows and shifting rooms so daily life unfolds against the ocean backdrop. Restored wooden beams and blue ceramic tiles infuse the space with coastal charm, while earthy textiles, local furnishings, and South African art ground it in place.
