South African startup The Messenger Network (TMN) has launched Clinch, an innovative marketplace and business directory built entirely on WhatsApp. This new platform allows businesses to showcase their products or services and engage with customers using the messaging app that’s already a staple in everyday communication. Through Clinch, customers can discover offerings, ask questions, and even complete purchases — all within WhatsApp. According to TMN’s managing director, Xander Barnard, the goal is to shift the focus from traditional communication channels to more effective ones. “Emails don’t close deals. WhatsApp does,” he noted, emphasizing how Clinch facilitates a seamless shopping journey from initial inquiry to final payment, right inside a WhatsApp chat.
