Sudan’s military has declared Khartoum State entirely free of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), marking a significant milestone in the nation’s ongoing civil war. This announcement comes nearly two months after the army recaptured Khartoum city, including the presidential palace. Before this claim, the army had launched a large-scale offensive in Omdurman, part of the capital region. The RSF has yet to comment on these developments. Meanwhile, Port Sudan, the center of the army-led government, and once considered a haven, experienced drone attacks earlier this month. The Sudanese government attributes these attacks to the RSF and accuses the UAE of supporting the group—a claim the UAE denies.
