Before this claim, the army had launched a large-scale offensive in Omdurman, part of the capital region. The RSF has yet to comment on these developments. Meanwhile, Port Sudan, the center of the army-led government, and once considered a haven, experienced drone attacks earlier this month. The Sudanese government attributes these attacks to the RSF and accuses the UAE of supporting the group—a claim the UAE denies.
