Mahama Pledges Job Creation, Economic Recovery, and Education Reform in New Term

Ghana’s President-elect, John Mahama, has outlined his vision for a new term focused on economic revival and job creation. In an interview with VOA, Mahama emphasized the importance of stabilizing the economy, reducing inflation, and creating sustainable jobs for young people. He criticized past job creation measures like NABCO and stressed that private sector growth would be key to generating employment. Regarding education, Mahama vowed to continue the Free Senior High School program and also promised to enhance basic education infrastructure, which he identified as an urgent issue. Additionally, Mahama addressed the illegal small-scale mining crisis, pledging to protect forest reserves and clean up polluted rivers while exploring sustainable mining practices. His administration aims to promote technological solutions to mining challenges, ensuring both economic growth and environmental preservation.
