Cassava Technologies has secured investment from US chipmaker Nvidia to accelerate the expansion of its digital infrastructure across more than 30 African countries. The company, founded by Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa, operates fiber optic networks, data centers, and cloud storage services across Africa. While neither company has disclosed the size of the investment, the announcement comes on the heels of Nvidia’s surge in valuation to nearly $5 trillion amid booming AI demand. The collaboration will accelerate Cassava’s plan to build an “AI factory” by integrating Nvidia’s powerful software into its data centers located in countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. This investment signals a major commitment to unlocking Africa’s vast digital potential, a market with an estimated $5 billion opportunity.
