The 27-year-old made her appeal in a TikTok video recorded from Switzerland, where she also declared that she would cut all contact with her family, alleging mistreatment and even claiming some relatives wish her dead. Brenda’s plea for change resonated with the political opposition and quickly went viral online, although the presidency has not officially responded. Previously, Brenda attracted attention for publicly coming out as gay—a bold stance in Cameroon given that homosexuality remains socially taboo there. Her statement adds a dramatic layer to Cameroon’s political landscape ahead of the vote.
