Luxury Scotch whisky brand The Macallan has partnered with Alexis Galleries to spotlight sustainability through Recycling Matters II, a contemporary art residency and exhibition in Lagos. The program brought emerging Nigerian artists together to transform discarded materials into striking new works, turning waste into powerful creative statements. Following weeks of experimentation with rubber, scrap metal, fabric remnants, and binding wires, the exhibition opened to collectors and cultural leaders, sparking conversations around consumption and environmental responsibility. The collaboration mirrors The Macallan’s philosophy of patience and craftsmanship in its whisky-making, while giving artists space to push boundaries. Running until February 21, the show invites audiences to reconsider their relationship with discarded objects and witness how overlooked materials become extraordinary art.
