‘Titanic’ Task of Finding Plundered African Art in French Museums                       

It was a seemingly historic moment in 2017 when French president Emanuel Macron declared that France would repatriate its museums’ African art. While some art has made its way back to the continent, French museums are overwhelmed by the task of determining what constitutes plundered art, resulting in much hand-wringing and little progress.
