Nigeria’s non-oil exports set new record in 2025

Nigeria export 2025

Nigeria’s economic diversification drive reached a significant milestone in 2025, as its non-oil export sector achieved a record $6.1 billion in earnings. This figure, announced by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), represents an 11.5% increase from the previous year and is the highest formal non-oil export value in nearly five decades. The growth is attributed to both increased export volume and expanding market access for 281 distinct products, spanning agriculture, processed goods, and solid minerals. While the figures signal stronger integration into global trade, the NEPC notes that informal cross-border trade still limits the full capture of Nigeria’s export potential. This sustained growth underscores a pivotal shift as the country continues to reduce its historical reliance on crude oil revenues.
