A new South African billionaire has been added to the Forbes World Billionaires List, highlighting the country’s growing presence in global wealth rankings. Johannes “Jannie” Mouton, founder of PSG Group, returns to Forbes’ World Billionaires List, ranking 2,024th with a net worth of $1.6 billion. After being dismissed from his previous firm in 1995, Mouton co-founded PSG Group, which has since fostered successful enterprises like Capitec Bank and Curro Holdings. Although he stepped down from his roles in 2018 due to health reasons, PSG Group continues to thrive with a diverse investment portfolio exceeding R5 billion. Mouton’s resurgence brings South Africa’s count of dollar-billionaires to seven.
