Dangote Eyes Namibia in Bold Push for Pan-African Growth

Nigerian officials celebrate the launch of new HIV and malaria test kits.

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, is eyeing Namibia as the next frontier in his pan-African investment drive. During a recent visit to Windhoek, the country’s capital, Dangote met with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. The Dangote Group has been expanding into energy markets across Africa and this aligns with Namibia’s green hydrogen push and energy ambitions. Fresh from launching the world’s largest oil refinery, Dangote emphasized the need for African-led development and intra-continental trade. He spotlighted his $620 million investment in South Africa and shared plans to scale industrial production across Africa. President Nandi-Ndaitwah welcomed the initiative, calling for value addition and job creation through African-owned ventures. Her message was clear: Namibia is open for business, especially from entrepreneurs who bring hope, jobs, and long-term impact to the continent.
