Weaving has a long history in Africa and forms a critical part of the built environment in the form of huts. Different styles and forms exist across the continent, such as the Dorze in Ethiopia and the Mbukushu in Angola, but the material lends itself to constructing round, dome-like forms with no distinction between walls and ceiling.
