Togo Grants Visa-Free Entry to All Africans

Togo has become the sixth African country to allow visa-free entry for all African citizens, joining nations such as Rwanda, Ghana, and Seychelles in promoting greater continental mobility. Beginning May 18, citizens holding valid passports from African Union member states may enter Togo without a visa for stays of up to 30 days. Authorities say the policy is designed to strengthen pan-African integration, encourage tourism and investment, and reinforce Togo’s position as a regional trade and logistics hub along the Gulf of Guinea. Travelers will still be required to complete an online pre-arrival declaration before departure, while immigration and security screening procedures remain in place. Analysts say the move aligns closely with broader African Continental Free Trade Area goals aimed at improving economic integration.
