Morocco’s tourism sector celebrated a historic milestone in 2025, welcoming a record 19.8 million visitors—a striking 14% increase over the previous year. The surge underscores the sector’s growing importance, with tourism accounting for about 7% of GDP and serving as a major source of jobs and foreign currency. This momentum has been fueled by expanded air links to key markets, aggressive promotion of emerging destinations, and investments in new and renovated hotels. Between January and November 2025, tourism revenue soared to $13.5 billion, up 19% year-on-year. Looking ahead, Morocco is aiming even higher, targeting 26 million tourists by 2030 as it prepares to co-host the FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal.
